District 31 Advanced Clubs are running a series of hybrid speech-a-thons starting mid-May though the end of June. Speech-a-thons are meeting with only speeches and evaluations so that more speeches can be completed in a meeting. Want your club to earn Distinguished Club Program (DCP) points to become Distinguished? Run your own or sign up to participate!
If you or your club member is close to completing a Pathways level or two, consider holding a speech-a-thon in your club to complete speech projects or give those Pathways speeches at the upcoming Advanced Club speech-a-thons to move your club closer to distinguished. Check if you or your members are close to completing a pathways level, complete those levels at an upcoming club meeting before June 30th, or complete the speeches at an upcoming Advanced Club speech-a-thon.
What are the benefits of doing this:
- Get an evaluation from a District 31 Advanced Club member.
- Give the speech that your weren’t ready for of there wasn’t enough time for in your club meeting.⌛
- Have fun listening and learning from other’s speeches and evaluations, as the meeting only focuses on speeches and evaluations.
- Check off Pathways educational levels to earn DCP points, moving your club toward Distinguished, while earning a level towards a pathfinder award.

In addition to earning points, there is a minimum DCP membership requirement (see Qualifying Requirement Section). If you need more members, the District is holding District open houses and also has a $50 open house incentive for your club to run an open house to increase membership.
