UPDATE ON DISTRIBUTION OF 2019-20 DISTRICT 31 TRIPLE CROWN AWARD: Due to COVID-19 restrictions on public gatherings and the cancellation of all in-person District events, the District has had to adjust its distribution methods for the Triple Crown. It was determined that shipping the trophies was too costly and there was too much of a risk of trophies breaking in transit. Instead, District leadership will facilitate in-person pick-up locations in the fall. Our primary concerns are that these pick-ups be safe for our members and comply with local laws and regulations. As soon as logistics are fully confirmed, all winners will be notified to arrange pick up of their trophy. We appreciate your patience as we navigate these unusual times.
The District 31 Triple Crown was different than the Toastmasters Triple Crown Award, as Toastmasters allows the criteria for special educational achievement recognition to be set and amended by the District year by year. In order earn the District 31 Triple Crown, members had to achieve educational awards in specific criteria:
Up until the 2017-18 program year — prior to the roll out of the Pathways Learning Experience — members had to achieve all of the following criteria within a single Toastmasters program year (July 1 – June 30) for a club or clubs located within District 31:
- Earn a Competent Communicator Award (CC)
- Earn a Competent Leader Award (CL)
- Earn ANY Advanced Award (ACB, ACS, ACG, ALB, ALS, DTM)
During the 2018-19 and 2019-20 program years, when both Pathways and the Traditional Education program were active, members had to achieve any three of the following six criteria within a single Toastmasters program year (July 1 – June 30) for a club or clubs located within District 31:
- Earn a Competent Communicator Award (CC)
- Earn a Competent Leader Award (CL)
- Earn ANY Advanced Award (ACB, ACS, ACG, ALB, ALS, DTM)
- Earn a Pathways Level 1
- Earn a Pathways Level 2
- Earn a Pathways Level 3, 4 or 5
